1. Detected as many as possibly 3 subs
2. Detached destroyers from carrier and sent carrier around subs and then close to shore (5NM off shore) at flank speed.
3. Chased subs around with zero effects, fired hell lot of torpedoes against them, and 2 destroyers also run circles, but never hit one.
4. In meanwhile, did CAP the usual way of bombing the airbase into oblivion (it only has 2x runway access points)
5. Once airbase was inop, launched SAR helos and used them as spotters for bombers. Much better than "Eyeball" recon aircraft.
