undocking cargo task force

Post by MikeMark »

I'm having a hard time telling when my cargo task force is ready to go, do you have to undock when the ships are loaded, or is this command for situations when you want to leave in a hurry with a partial load?

You have to give your cargo TF a destination. If you do not, it will start unloading the second it gets fully loaded. It thinks it has arrived at its destination. If you do not want it to go to its final destination right away, send it to an open ocean hex with "Patrol do not retire" orders until you are ready to send it on its way.

I use the undock feature to have my anti-sub forces patrol the port hex, however the dock the very next turn. To be honest I do not use it very often.

Hope this helps,

IIRC, if you undock your ASW TF and set it to patrol/do not retire, react to enemy with a destination of that port, it will patrol that hex forever( or it runs out of fuel, not long ).
