41 Blizzard New Zealand vs Canada

Post by MikeB »

The attachment is a zip wordpad document. It documents communications in the Canadian(German) vs New Zealand(Russian) game in progress.

The game started from Jun 41...after the Canadian botched the Russian defence. Kiev fell on first half hearted attack due to a level 3 leader in charge with minimal op points. Downhill from there.

A key point of new game was to allow / encourage Russian double saves from Aug 10 through Sept or was it Oct 30, 41. While managing to cross the river...Poltava was kept in Russian hands.

Leningrad did fall to the Germans. Advancement next to Vologda, Kalinin, Rzhev, Vyazma?, Byansk? and capture of Orel was achieved by the Germans.

The dreadful Blizzard arrived...whereat Germans retreated to Leningrad, Novgorad, west of Demyansk, west of Mogilev, Zhitomir and slightly east of Odessa.

The german experience levels were hopefully somewhat retained. Comparison against June 42 "campaign 42 game" indicates no great improvement however.

The Russians are hands over fists buried in resources...20,000 airplanes; 12,000 tanks. What more could they wish. The winter snow of March 42 saw some 2500 R tanks die against only 1500 G tanks. seems only fair as the Germans only have some 8,000 tanks in the game.

An exchange of Alt R was done for Mar 3, 42. This helped to reassure each side as to status of game and viability of continuance. The emails are alternatively enthusiastic and downright discouraged....as no doubt the actual leaders were in the war.

Enjoy reading. Another issuance will likely be done for Sept/Oct 42. perhaps in April 2003?

Parties who may be interested in the alt r tables can email me.
