Easy matrixgames?

Post by panzerpop »

I really enjoyed playing panzer corps and europe commander at war and I would like to play some more ww2 matrixgames. But I find panzer corps to be quite a challenge. I fear other matrixgames to be even more challeging. Are there other ww2 matrixgames that are not so difficult?

Those are about as simple as they come here. If you are having problems with game mechanics or strategy then please explain a little further. There are many friendly folks here that would be happy to help. Maybe start a thread on that game's particular forum would speed things along too. But you are right, the games ramp up in complexity after those you mentioned. I am not familiar with ECAW but PC is a classic in that it is easy to learn but hard to master, like checkers.

Hang in there, we can help if you provide specifics. [:)]

P.S. I frequently get my a$$ handed to me by some of these games too. [:D]

Combat Command looks easy, but I really found the rules difficult to digest. The latest Battle Academy 2, or BC1 on sale would be nice [:)]

Yeah, Combat Command is relatively simple compared to other games here, but the rules take a bit of studying to understand. Just moving and attacking is much trickier than in Panzer Corps.

Order of Battle: Pacific might be your best bet. It's easy to pick up after playing PC, but I found the difficulty curve to be much smoother.

Well yeah definitely harder than Panzer Corps, but it's very simple compared to most other games here.

The Frontline series are also very simple and fun. Check reviews and AARs for these games and I'm sure you will find the right one for you.

You found Panzer Corp a challenge? My god man I wish I were you. I haven't played a challenging game of any wargame in years. HELL by Slitherine is the closest to anything that gives me a challenge. I envy you.

you might look at the forums for Order of Battle: Pacific and/or Germany at War: Barbarossa 1941. you should be able to find some utube videos of game play as well.
