Aircraft Carriers

Post by bluesteel »

Been a long time since played ATG; playing the GD 1938 v221rat2 scenario. Forgot how to use the carriers; if transfer planes to the carriers the task force will not move. How do I load planes to the carriers and use them??

Put them in the unit with the carrier they count as one of the 8 allowed SFT.

Also be sure that the capacity of the carrier is not reached cause if you get over that, the carrier will not move either.

Well, thanks for the replies; need confirming; when you say one of the 8 allowed can you be more specific. If I make 10 torpedo planes and transfer them to the carrier that would be too many? As ernieschwitz stated it appears my capacity exceeded

Go to sft that is your carrier and look at general info tab it will list the maximum capacity of your carrier. Each Carrier specific type aircraft SFT has a weight of 10. Your normal air craft weigh more so don't use them.

If you are in a standard game usually the carrier weight for aircraft at 1st level is 100 which means you can load a total of 10 aircraft to that unit.

This idea of weight is true for mobility on trucks and halftrack also. Each sft has a set allowance it can carry.

I don't know how to post pictures maybe Ernie or someone can show you what I mean.
