Bombur v1.00

Post by ironduke1955 »

Available powers are

Germania
The Soviets
The Union
Kingdom of Italy
Nippon
The Republic

Nationalities should be obvious except "The Union" I am guessing British

Once all powers are picked sides will be revealed and the player with Germania will play the first turn. Good Hunting.

Ok Germania is Armoured Lion.

Since I am holding the random number allocations to decide sides I will pick last, if anyone wants the random allocations then I will PM them once they have picked a nation.

I apologize - I had requested to join the game, but on second thought decided not to. If I knew how to delete my post I would have.

I haven't done my turn. I will do it tonight. But, I've tried to install the saved turn, load it through scenarios and saved game and it doesn't appear. Can someone hold my hand and walk me through it. Thanks and sorry for being a pain.

Some comments:

The Union is USA, not British
I noticed small bug in this version. Fortifications cannot be built. So I fixed it and sent it to our dropbox folder, maybe we should recreate the map?

ORIGINAL: ironduke1955
Germania
The Soviets
The Union
Kingdom of Italy
Nippon
The Republic

Is this also the order of play (i.e. Germania first, then the Soviets, etc.)?

Ok Bombur if you can create another map that would be great, just list the available nations assign them a random value 1 to 6, so players can pick their preference. Same sides rules as before 123 plays 456.

"when I load the scenario I get a message "antanto\airsymbol.png" can't be found on the C: drive if I hit okay it goes to a two player game."

You don't load the scenario you load the file in the Dropbox, that done by clicking on the Load Game option locating the file, if you have dropbox running on your puter you can locate the file Bombur1930v100GermaniaT1 in the Bombur v1.00 folder. Once you are done end turn and alter the file to read the next nation that is shown at the end of turn screen.

But currently do nothing because Bombur has found a bug and we will be restarting.

Yes that would have been the order but we are restarting. Sometimes happens.

Yes, loading saved game is what I did originally, but another player said I should go through scenarios because it wasn't loading. I am getting a two player game instead of six and the missing PNG file alert doesn't come up when I load other saved games. I'll give it a go when the new first turn file is present.

Yes you right on that one best if Bombur creates the game he is the expert, I also think the game I created was 1933 I am sure players would prefer 37 or 38 as a starting point.

Created a map with the following standards

Large map
6 players (each one choose a number-we have all nations except Japan)
It is a deserted land with Big oceans, it should give a feeling of North Africa/Mediterranean campaigns
With this new versions there are some imbalances in city creation. Each country has 14-19 VP, with VP being proportional to total production. We could fix it by editing the map or we can go to play as the map is (I favor this last one, some imbalance isn´t bad, it simulates real life, and there are always alliances)
Game starts in 1938 (can be edited)
Need 43 VP to win (about 45% of total VP)
Will we set fixed alliances? If we do so, it´s necessary to keep track of starting VP´s

Armoured Lion, btw, the file you´re lacking is my mistake. Other players didn´t notice it because this file was mistakenly "purged" from this last version, but was included in v0.92. It won´t affect gameplay. Tell me if you want and I prepare a special version of this scenario to you.

Yes I like this setup I am firmly in favor of fixed alliances it avoids arguments of unfair this or that. If its 1938 then any major power will do for me they all have their strengths and weaknesses, so whatever is left will be fine.

Well, if we go for fixed alliances, I would suggest

1-Japan (Good ships, average aircraft, poor tanks)
2-Germany (Poor ships, good aircraft, good armour)
3-France (average ships, average aircraft, good armour)

1-Italy (Average ships, good aircraft, very poor armour)
2-Russia (Very poor ships, average aircraft, good armour)
3-USA (Good ships, average aircraft, poor armour)

I can take any nation, but I want to be in the same side of Iron Duke, since it will be the winner[:D](just kidding)
