Hostiles in Hex

Is it possible to have friendlies and enemy's in the same hex? Some how I managed to achieve this and I don't think that should be possible. What happened is I had a unit sharing a hex with civilians and when I moved a 2nd unit it an assault happened and my unit retreated from the hex into a hex with an enemy.

Yes, it is possible now, in some instances, especially if it involves Civilians.
