Editor?

Close Combat: Gateway to Caen is the latest release in the critically-acclaimed Close Combat series and focuses on the largest, concentrated British offensive since the Normandy landings in an attempt to penetrate the German lines west of Caen and cross the Odon River to get the stalled advance moving again.

Do the close combat series of games have an editor where we can make our own battles?

There's not an editor per se, but you can create your own battles, through database editing and creating your own maps. Check other Close Combat forums, especially Cross of Iron or The Longest Day ones. These two seem to have the majority of the mods, and therefore should have users that could give you more detail than I can.

In all versions you can create your own battles using the forces and maps available in that game. Creating your own maps requires modding the game.
