Random crash

I have played it alot but I have never gotten any far in one campaign. However I decided to change that so I started a new campaign using Warhammer 40k mod, 1400 stars. It was running without any issues at all until I got perhaps mid game.

The majority of stars have been claimed and colonised by different empires (I believe it is 13 factions total in this campaign) and thats when I started to crash to desktop randomly. Sometimes I can play for just a minute or two and it crashes and other times I can play for many hours. I tried to restart with an earlier save but the same happened there aswell when I reached a certain point.

Is this a recurring problem, do I have too many stars/empires? Is there some sort of workaround or is this because of too much happening and I get a memory leak or something?

I got 8gb of ram, 970gtx 4gb, I-7 intel core 3.4 ghz.

It could be anything related to running the game. The game, the mod, the amount of stars, your computer...

Look for a crash dump in a path looking something like (I don't have this on my computer so no exact path...):

Documents - My Games - Distant Worlds Universe - 1.9.5.12

The exact names can be different, and the last bit is the version you run. Inside you should see the Save game folder, and more importantly, possibly a file called something with "dwcrash.txt" or similar. The contents here is the relevant info for your latest crash. Just paste that content here.

There is just a few files there, so spotting the thing that looks like a crash log should be possible.
