Amazing game so far. To drum up a little excitement over the game, I figured we'd share some of our initial strategies. How are you all doing? Here is my finished turn 1, perhaps you'd like to share yours? Focused on Centre, screw what Hitler wants.

I'm curious, can you place your units (Germans OR Soviet) on the map as you see fit at start, or are you locked into their historical set ups?

Looks like you did a real number on the Brest area, and the Lvov area looks in trouble for the Soviets. As I recall, the Soviets had very large armor elements in the south (mostly BT's)...love the fog of war element!

For my first game I did the historical positions. I'm not sure if you can change it actually.

"jumping right in" has already led me to fuel shortages for AGS on turn 4. Ha!

political points and supply juggling are key to happy fuel usage, tied in with proper resource management and combat stance, Blitzkrieg should only be used sparingly with sustained being the norm after the first few turns, using defensive and rest and recover on mauled or units needing replacements or rest etc, choose good places to rest behind the line and in good to better defensive positions, not in the open where you can get mauled, as the turn after a stance chance your vulnerable to attack.

supply base or FSB need to be close, so move them often, same as you're main air bases, always keep your supply line in green where possible, with trains for most of the way, trucks at the last part, or you will supply low to no supply later on mid to late game time, good luck[&o]

Yes, knowing this now I've decided to start over, I can't believe I was crippled that fast. Very different than WITE, but I like it.

well looking at your choices and settings and with FOW on, your doing much better indeed than anyone playing so far, well done, you really do know you're map layouts and have picked up the game very well, much better than me, i bow to your skill level[&o][&o][&o] and look even more forward now to your next plays, will watch with interest as you have given the AI more time to think as well so will be interesting to see how you do in winter now you have at first hit the mud, with snow and ice to follow
