So who's happy with their purchase?

VR designs has been reinforced with designer Cameron Harris and the result is a revolutionary new operational war game 'Barbarossa' that plays like none other. It blends an advanced counter pushing engine with deep narrative, people management and in-depth semi-randomized decision systems.

So who's happy with their purchase?

Post by wodin »

From my viewpoint I'd be shocked if someone wasn't.

Who else hopes this brings in a new wave of wargames that try something new and different?

Who will buy anything released next using this engine?

I think it should win any Wargame of the year awards...

I'm going to stop raving about it I think now:)

I'm loving it, but then all of us DC owners knew it was going to be good game. All I can say is that wargamers should feel lucky that we have Vic making these unique games.

I'd like to see Vic go in two different directions for his next few WW2 games. First, I'd like to see Barbarossa get extended and cover more of the war. However, what I would really like to see, and I feel you would agree with this Wodin, is a smaller scope game at the battalion/company level. Would like to see smaller unit tactics to include, bridge blowing, ambushing, ect. Linked smaller scenarios would be nice as well.

God yes WilliePete..a Coy scale game would be eye wateringly fantastic.

Michael..yes I know I should. However I think being someone who isn't normally a massive fan of wargames this scale it really has impressed me in ways I never thought a game of this scale could.

so do all the testers[;)]

as nothings perfect and there's always room for improvement, glad to see you're onboard and hope you enjoy it and make it grow into something more special and better than the sum of it's starting parts, you should maybe have been on the beta, as input is always welcome, same as idea's and impression and all feedback, good or bad, now go see if you can take Moscow and keep it, as assaulting is one thing, but keeping hold is a totally different ball game[8|][:D][;)]

then and only then, try the harder of the 2 sides imo, if the German side isn't hard enough and tackle the Russians, the bear starts sleeping, but doesn't stay like it for long, and soon awakes and is hungry for revenge, while not a step back is written, and forward is a long long way, i'm sure you will find a way to conquer it, and be the General of the day[8D]

watch the feed on twitch as well, for extra info later tonight, then his review, makes sense as if you like his review and trust him, it's better than a strangers review and impression / opinion from elsewhere tbh[;)]

This is the only wargame to really grab my interest in quite some time. The other recent offerings just seem like some variation of the same old thing - often just an uber-detailed same old thing. This one is a fresh approach.

It must be personal preference because Ive always loved the Eskubi portraits and artwork in the DC games. Im tinkering in the Community project to add similar artwork for late war and a tiny bit of US artwork.

Hi all,
...can someone who played, provide specifics to the unique features here? Is it just the RP or other changes too?
I have the other DC games.
On the fence to buy at moment. But will soon. [;)]

cheers.

It made me forget my problems, the worlds problems, eventually it dawned
on me that my wife had finally given up. Had not heard her voice calling
for what 3 or 4 hours? (at least she kept bringing cups of coffee). Was
immersed 6+ solid hours. My only problem...keeping my panzers fed!

Would like to take time to Thank Vic,Cameron for a great QUALITY product.
You do not find that all the time these days. Also the beta guys, who I am sure must have helped in their own way, making this a solid game on release day.

Confirm me, as a happy customer!
