This is not a typo.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"

Yes, Yes, Isn't it just an exasperated Yes? If so then no, no typo [;)]

Its the last part of that sentence I don't like.
Conflict with the unexpected: two qualities are indispensable; first, an intellect which, even in the midst of this obscurity, is not without some traces of inner light which lead to the truth; second, the courage to follow this faint light. KvC

In what way?

Hi,

Reichsminister Funk is having a busy day and is frustrated at having to explain, what was to him, the obvious.

Cheers,

I speak German. When I translate exact word for word into English, sometimes it seems kind of funny, or doesn't make sense, or even backwards. I'm not sure if this text is directly lifted from something Reichsminister Walther Funk wrote or said? This sentence seems kind of run-on-ish at the end of it. I'm not saying its wrong, but it could have been written better...unless its a quote of course. It also sounds like he's responding to someone with the "yes, yes"...but we don't see the other communication. I would have written:

Benzene will fix the problem with Russian gasoline. Our limited refining capacity is already stretched.

Or to be more informative:

Benzene will fix the problem our engines are having with using captured Russian gasoline. (although this could be assumed depending on who he is talking to)

No need for: "processing crude oil stocks" since what else would the refineries be processing? Doubly so for "on hand" since that is obvious.

All this is nit-picking. However, It would have helped to have someone good with the English language to proof read and edit prior to the final version making it to the printers or for sale. Maybe that would have been cost prohibitive?

This is my opinion of course and reflects American English. There may be others better with the King's English...perhaps Warspite?
