Downloading now!

Thanks for providing a direct download link; as usual, the Matrix in-game update didn't work. I'm not sure why Matrix even bothers providing one, it almost never works.

The error says: "Unable to download file. An error occurred while trying to open an ftp file."

It sounds like your Windows firewall is blocking the connection.

Using Matrix/Slitherine's standard "Campaign Series Middle East (Game Menu)" launcher, I was able to update the game successfully using the "Check for Update" feature. After the download and patch update, all of the expected files are there, the version # (1.01) checks, and so far, everything seems to be fine.

I won't comment on the "almost never works." I really couldn't say.

It sounds like your Windows firewall is blocking the connection.

Maybe, but it works for a few Matrix titles--if it were the firewall wouldn't it block or allow all of them?

Tamas, No not Firewall, this Matrix service is always sketchy. I learned a long time ago to turn off my firewall when updating Matrix Games and whenever I do I update ALL of them. This time I am getting a popup "Run Time Error." But my McAfee Firewall was off! [:@]

Thanks to the devs for getting this out, lots of good stuff.

But two questions:
1) I would love to have mouse wheel zoom-in/out; I thought there was some discussion of that being included--any chance of that?

2) I see this: "Implemented a new, multi-tiered logging scheme, where the depth and verbosity of logging are specified at the EXE command line." What kind of logging is this--error logging or logging of in-game activities (combat, etc.)? If the latter, what are the relevant command line parameters?

Hello 76mm,

There was unfortunately no time to include mouse wheel zoom in this update. It is on our internal to-do list, so likely to appear in a later update. As for the logging, that's got to do with problem solving issues that cannot easily be replicated, in which case a command line parameter puts the game in a very verbose mode, with lots of detail in the log files as what the game is doing and where.

OK, thanks. Personally I'm really looking forward to that addition.
