Steam does update and game no longer works

I purchased WL SE on the 4th of Dec through Steam, played 9 hrs with out a problem and on the 13th I opened WL and Steam had an update and now the game does not work.

I have done 3 clean installs with no luck.

The game is always locking up and requiring me to Ctrl alt delete to shut WL down.

When I am able to get into MP, SP or SB the game hangs up at "loading battle events" and I can only let the game time out with WIN 10 or Ctrl alt delete to shut Wl down.

I think it is pretty poor that Steam does not have support for this and pass the buck to Matrix when it was their update that seems to have caused the problem. I would be just as happy getting a game key from you and a DL link so I can get away from steam. Do you do that since you give people a steam key?

As far as trying the link for info I will try it. But Iplayer the game for 9 hours with no problems and then after a Steam update she goes tits up.

I have done everything on the link. No one knows why the game will not go past loading game events or building chain of command then?

If this is the case did I waste $50?

we will support the game, and give tech advice, as you know it does already work on your system as you have played it for 9 hours already, i use windows 10 pro 64bit also and have logged 30 plus hour in game, so thanks for being patient.

The problem I am having is with Scourge of War Waterloo Steam Edition. My bad on giving the correct info had no idea there was another game.

Morsey - the issue may be the same with SoW - duplicate files from a Steam update. Its worth checking your folders as the admin post above mentioned (but of course check the SoW folder, not the one listed for another game). Do you have duplicate files? Can the older ones be deleted? Worth a look.

that may just be a wild goose chase tbh, i was on a tech post at the same time and posted the wrong one in here, my error tbh

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

as your new here and you wont be able to post a link etc, just paste the whole log into a new post

as game works in win 10, but does need some exe commands adding as well, as steam doesn't do it for you, then game works 100% with win 10 all versions
