What was a coincidence is that I also bought the book on T-34 commander, Vasiliy Bryukhov, whose first battle was that battle. His tank was one of the Soviet tank horde that ran into the Germans near Oktiabrskii. His tank overran the German grenadiers and went into that very same anti-tank trench. He and a few T-34s got out of this to the other side but his tank took damage and had to retreat. Not much of his platoon survived.

The Kursk book also mentions that behind the panzer company were only grenadiers w halftracks and self-propelled artillery. I don't see a reason for Wespe and Hummels being that exposed. Maybe they are Marders. Besides we don't have Wespe or Hummel models.
