Sound file question

Post by elmo3 »

How does the game decide which .wav file to play when units move? My Pz Divisions are playing the foot march sound when they move and I can't figure out how to change it to the tank sound.

Edit - All the tank troops types have the tank sound set to the proper .wav file so I'm guessing it's using some other troop type sound instead.

Did you look (in-game) to the logo left of the units?

and at unit details tab -> basic details -> movement details

My guess is your units do not have enough transport and thus the appropriate sound is used.

It shows the flak symbol and says they are using foot. The unit has 100 trucks which should carry up to 500 weight. I have 400 infantry, 40 flak and 30 75mm PAK which should have a total weight of 470. So that should be enough to motorize the unit. All the rest of the units are tanks. So I'm not understanding something about carry vs weight I guess.

Edit - OK, never mind. I thought a unit with 100 trucks carried 500 but I see now it's really considered two units that each carry 5 and that the same is true for infantry and guns where you have to multiply the weight by the number of units not the number of actual infantry or guns. So my Pz unit actually has a carry of 10 and a weight of 18. Back to the drawing board!
