Why am I stuck with no AP?

Post by Michael T »

Ok what the hell is going on with the 123rd ID ?

See image 1. 1st August. The unit has AP and is within command range.

See image 2. 5th August. The unit has No AP and is within command range.

See image 3. 9th August. The unit has No AP and is within command range.

See image 4. 13th August. The unit has No AP and is within command range. Command Range has decreased to 4 hexes, I got desperate.

See image 5. 17th August. The unit has No AP and is within command range. Command Range has decreased to 3 hexes, I got pissed off. And worse still the disease has spread to 291st ID.
And the enemy, maybe sensing something is amiss has now infiltrated these frozen units.

What gives?

I have units all over the map out of command but they always get some AP to move along.

This unit has had none for 4 turns in a row.

I have all the files if needed. Is this WAD?

I hope the seriousness of the situation is apparent. I now have to divert units to rescue my frozen troops. And what guarantee do I have that the rescuers won't get stuck? I would have thought if any unit would have gotten stuck it would be the mech units, not the foot units.

The 123rd appears to be completely out of supply. What are the Readyness levels of the problem units? Without supply to recover readyness, APs will drop like a rock.

Do the river and lake around Novgorod limit supply, to/from the 16A HQ and/or the 123rd ID?

Yes, big time. Also mountains- see the tables on pp. 108-109.

I know supply is very low. But I can't even move one hex. So the units are stuck forever?

Ok I have flown a resupply mission. Supply stock went up to 77. So I will see if I can move one hex next turn.

Hi Michael,

You've got your unit way out on a limb there.

There are two swamp hexes, a river and mountains in order for supply to reach it.

You can see by the little coloured dots in the top left of the unit counters that you've got other units barely eking out enough.

Turn on the supply layer (button bar) and you'll get a visual indication of the extent of supply reach)

In a nutshell you've sent them off into the badlands.

Cheers,
Cameron

Yes air supply got me out of trouble. No problem here. I got side tracked by command range. It was supply trouble.
