Should I give up?

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Should I give up?

Post by Der Kuenstler »

I'm trying my first Trappenjagd campaign on easy against the AI. I'm about 6 weeks into the campaign - I was late taking Kerch because I didn't know how to do it right and now my forces have arrived at Rostov to find a huge soviet buildup. I can't figure out how to crack this. I can't surround the soviets here and I can't bomb them out because I pissed away 1/2 of my Luftwaffe assets not knowing how to use it. Plus the AI has all their fighters concentrated here. I'm faced with butting every stack head on - can't afford losses like that. Should I just start over or is there hope? I'm doing much better to the North - fronts up there are collapsing.

Probably because the only one who can decide that is you.

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

Thanks for the feedback Lobster! I ended up pressing on and taking what opportunities the AI gave me - the Russkies eventually crumbled although I missed my command deadline.
