AP question

Post by elmo3 »

See the screenshot below. The cost for the 12th Mot Inf Rgt to move one hex to the NE was first listed as 72AP. I messed up the screenshot so I reloaded the game and looked at the same move. This time it shows the AP as 24 as you can see in the screenshot below. By my calculations it should be 30AP (15 for Motorized in plains + 10 for enemy ZOC + 5 for enemy territory. I don't understand how the game comes up with 72 AP one time and 24 AP the next. What am I missing? Thanks.

Edit - Just remembered that the first time I saw the problem there was a fuel can on all the hexes where the unit could move so maybe the 72 AP came from tripling the cost from 24 to 72 due to low fuel? Why the game showed low fuel one time and not low fuel the next is a mystery to me. And I don't see how it comes up with 24AP either.

Edit - Replaying the turn again and part way through moving and attacking all my German units start getting the fuel cans on hexes during movement. Is that supposed to happen? I thought you got supply/fuel at the start of the turn and if the units had enough then there was no penalty for that turn.

Hi,

See my previous reply with the new version of the CP about how to restore the oil points in the top part of the interface (debug>reload master).

The moment points there drop to 0 (or very close) you'll motorized troops will be severly impacted in movement.

100% sure that explains the difference in AP cost here.

Solution: Give the Germans a bit more oil or some initial reserves.

Best wishes,
Vic

I did reload the master and I do see 1999 oil in the top bar so that is working. Guess I never realized that it's first come first served and when it's gone the rest of the units are out of luck. Thought it all got distributed at the start of the turn. Will definitely need to increase the amount. Thanks.

Somehow I've either broken my scenario or there is still a map reload bug. I edited the regime hexes for the Axis side and now the fuel window is gone. I ran debug and reloaded the master file twice but it isn't doing any good. Sending you my scenario file.

Edit - Just noticed that if you look at the map in the Simple Editor the regime hexes look fine. But if you open up the scenario and try to play it the regime lines are messed up

Hi,

I noticed a small glitch in the 'map tab' where the owner of the hex is always displayed as n/a. Will be fixed next version.

Your issue is that you deleted the German ownership of the hexes. They are now 'neutral' and owned by nobody.

For fixing it.

Go the map Tab.
Select draw type as regime -> Axis.
Go to Fill mode.
Click in the German area to fill it as a german regime.
Disable draw mode.
If you now click on the minimap you'll see it update and display the border once more.

best wishes,
Vic

OK, thanks. Could have sworn I set the Regime to Axis before redrawing but apparently not.
