Game won't load a scenario or campaign

I've been playing this game since the first week it came out. No problems till now. I can get into the game but when I click on start a new scenario Or campaign nothing happens. Windows eventually gives me the option to close the program. I had a few saved game that it let me get into. Btw I am not using Windows 10. Please help. I miss the game.

I saw you helped someone else with s similar problem. I have no ME .EXE file. I reinstalled the game and the update. I had my windows anti virus turned off. It still won't work and still no ME.EX file. How do I get it back.

If you have followed the install and patching steps correctly, there should of course be a me.exe file. If it's not there, there must be some sort of interference from your system's anti-virus mechanism(s).

As a workaround, you might unzip the latest Open Beta hot fix patch into some other temporary directory (within My Documents, maybe?), then (in Windows Explorer) copy-and-paste any missing .exe files into your Campaign Series Middle East folder.

Maybe in your anti-virus software, somehow exclude the Campaign Series Middle East folder from any virus scans?

Apart from that, I can't offer any other advice!

Are your windows explorer folder preferences somehow not showing executable extension files now?

I have reinstalled the game and the most recent patch. I do have the ME.exe file but the same thing happens. When I choose scenario or campaign it does nothing and then Windows gives me the option to close program. I can go into a saved game that somehow is still there. Not sure why since I uninstalled the game. It lets me play that saved game. All the scenarios are in the game file. If I am in that saved game and I click on file it gives me options. I can click on open. Shouldn't the other scenarios be listed there because they are not. Any thoughts on any of this.

The ME.EDIT does open the scenarios but ME.EXE does not.

What version of windows are you using? Also, are you able to remember anything that was new happening that may have caused this? Like an AV update, or anything like that?

I am using Windows 8.1. I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 and the only anti virus I have is what came with Windows. I had that turned off before I reinstalled the game. I had played this game for quite a while and had no problems. I only play games on this computer and I'm usually off line.

I know, that is what is puzzling me, if you played it before, but can't now, it has got to be something changed. If all the scenario's are in the scenario's folder, you can start the game, then it has to be something has changed! Stupid question, but did you by chance try to make a scenario, or anything like that? Reason I ask is if anything is wrong in the scenario folder, when the program scans through the scenario's, it would do that!

For starters, in Windows Explorer, go to the game folder, and click once on the scenarios folder, it should show 607 items?

I checked my scenario folder and it shows I have 578 files and not 607. I must be missing some files.

I remember now that someone I believe from Matrix emailed me a scenario file entitled Sealion that I added. Could that have caused a problem? I just deleted but it changed nothing.

Sealion is for West Front, of course.

So, I believe, you have to delete all related files for that scenario.

Yep, that would for sure do it!! I had this problem happen with an PBEM opponent, he accidentally got a WF btl file in the ME saves folder, it would crash every time, was thinking this had to be the case as well! You should be good to go when you remove all the Kent files!!

I got rid of Kent County and I am now able to play the scenarios. I can't play campaigns but I can live with that.

Excellent!! Now, can you confirm, in the scenario's folder, you have Assad.LCG, Suez.LCG, and Radfan.LCG? They will have many files after with Assad, Radfan, Suez...

Yes they are all present in the scenario folder. All three with several files followed with the letters LCG.
