Fog of War bug ...

Post by Mr.Frag »

I had to laugh last night, playing as the Allied when I received a report that the Japan MSW was clearing a minefield at Truk. I then saw a message that the channel was being widened...

Funny, but I didn't know that mines in WW II were equipped with radios that allowed them to report what happened. It dawned on me that I have been seeing these messages for quite some time now, but it never clicked that I probably shouldn't see them ;)

Running 2.20 here, since day 1, I had the patches before I had the game :D

I obviously had no ships anywhere near Truk (it was a computer run sub that dropped the field and had long since departed).

I've noticed this too, but oddly, only recently did it hit me as puzzling. I agree that we shouldn't be seeing when the enemy has cleared a path.

Sort of speaks to perhaps a need for an individual "turn summary" at the beginning of each turn where we get the real scoop on our own side (including forces that arrived, forces damaged or destroyed, etc).

Funny how that is eh? You see it and the mind simply writes it off and you send more mines out to fix the minefield, yet it never really dawns on you that "hey? Why'd I see that?"

When it finally clicked, I was laughing about the mine's calling home for help! :D Having never run any other versions, I wonder just how long it's been like that...
