sounds mod

There are fantastic graphic mods about planes but there are also some mods about new sounds for air bombing attack, air-air or naval combat?
Thanks!

Look here:

http://mathubert.free.fr/main_content.htm

It's a very old WITP site, but sound files for WITP will work fine in AE. You have to scroll through it to find the chunks of sound files.

If you look at the page you see my drift. [8D]

It's a valuable resource page for AE grogs, but you do see how far homebrewed Web pages have come since the mid-2000s.

Is there a sheet that describes what each file is used for?
Is see there is an Excel file for WitP, but the files used in WitP-AE seem different, at least the listing does not match that of WitP-AE.

Currently I'm searching for a replacement for the ship/sub screen sound, these short repeating low quality sounds are really annoying.

Folks get tired of hearing some sound clips like "Send, main body" every single turn, so there are clips to replace that and a few other repetition messages.
I added more "Tokyo Rose" clips to my game, steam train sounds to the movement phase, and several other aircraft sounds of actual B24's, B17's, Merlin engines, etc.

Swapping sound files is VERY easy, just remember to create a seperate folder to put wav files you will be replacing into and give your new wav files the numbers of those older files.
Example: wav.234....

I swapped out a bunch of sound files long ago. No cheat sheet I know of. You have to just listen to them. And note the file number; they swap file name for file name and the game code calls them by name. Mess up and a sinking sub gets the sounds of flak.

The whistling "falling bomb" sound gets really old after repetition.

A lot of them do, but it's been many years. [:)]

There are other bomb sounds in that "Spooky" website you were directed to.
Mods for the original "War In The Pacific" will work with WITP-AE as well.

BTW, the one sound file of the sub skipper yelling "Dive,Dive" is that of Clark Gable from the film "Run Silent,Run Deep".
