Russian bridge repair

Post by ChuckBerger »

Usually when the Russian blow it bridge, it's because the Germans are about to take it. And usually the German take the crossing and repair the bridge. End of story.

But sometimes the Germans don't take the crossing and don't repair the bridge... and maybe the Russians would want to use the crossing again. But the Russians have no ability to repair the thing.

This isn't a huge problem, I'll admit, in a standard game when the Germans are attacking most of the game. Nor in a game with a human Russian player, because far fewer bridges are blown because only Zhukov can do it.

In my current game vs super-hard AI, there are blown bridges all over the place where I got close but was stopped short of the river crossing. Now all those blown bridges are actually inhibiting Russian supply in some key areas where the AI is trying to counterattack...

Maybe a card for the Russian? Or auto-repair of the bridge once it is no longer in the "danger zone" of getting captured?

Conversely, I'd love the ability to blow a bridge as the Germans.

Hi Chuck,

You're pushing the envelope with your AI slaying quest here. Starting to encounter some a-typical situations.

I'll give it some thought.

Cheers,
Cameron
