East Front Box

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

East Front Box

Post by monniker »

Hello all,

I'm a longtime (and terrible) player, of about a year now. I only play the AI because I'm not very good, but I was wondering t this stage of the game both how many people play with the Front Box on, and whether they thought that it made life for them easier or not.

Generally, against the AI I prefer it on simply because I find it difficult to keep track of my withdrawing units and I hate being caught in a bind; the tradeoff being that I am constantly refitting stuff in the East to the peril of my Italian and French theaters.

Additionally, if any better players want to chime in about how to maximize the Front Box, I would be certainly appreciative...|

Thanks,
monniker

I would definitely play Box OFF, and I play both sides. It just doesn't balance quite right. It's fun to be able to play with different units, but in the end it doesn't really work, IMO.

Leave it off is what I would say.....
