Automatic selection of single unit in hex?

Post by toddtreadway »

I've noticed that when you select a hex to fire from, the game has you select the unit you want to fire with in the bottom left, even if it is the only unit in the hex. Sometimes, as in the case of firing with a lone AFV, this can result in a process of:'

1) left-click the hex you want to fire from
2) left-click the vehicle you want to fire with (even though there is only one)
3) right-click the target
4) left-click the weapon (and then possibly another left-click for ammo type)
...
followed by doing this same sequence three more times for the other machine guns (bow, coax, and anti-air). I find this a bit cumbersome.

How about some simplified targeting, where:
1) if a single unit is in a hex, it is automatically selected to fire, and
2) have an option to fire everything, maybe allow the player to select weapon 1 then 2 then 3, etc., until some effect is achieved.
