AT Gun out of HE

Playing Tutorial 2 as Amis. Fired the AT Gun and it seemingly did have a HE shell. When I fired it again it said it was out of HE.

Questions/thoughts:
1. I don't see any indicator in the unit panel to tell me it is out of HE (and therefore useless against infantry I assume). If it was a big scenario with lots of guns it would be hard to keep track of which had certain ammo or not.
2. Am I right that the AT gun without HE cannot harm infantry?

1. Something for Peter to add.
2. He could fire at Infantry in buildings. He might hurt them when they are in buildings
