Game Crash on Ground Unit Destroyed List

Post by apbarog »

In my long-running game against Walker, I found a problem when picking a destroyed ground unit off of the list in order to buy it back. The unit in question had been destroyed in the combat that had just occurred. The combat report lists 2 units destroyed in combat that turn, and it was one of them.

The unit in question is the 53rd Aus Lt AAA Rgt. My political point total is low, but that shouldn't affect just looking at a unit on the list. I didn't get to the point of actually buying it out.

I first crashed the game after 5 or 6 hours of plotting the next turn. I've since reloaded the turn and picked that unit right away, and found that this possible bug is repeatable.

Note that we are still using an old Beta, 1.7.11.23x10 - Aug 23 2014, so we haven't upgraded to the latest official release, nor Betas that followed.

I've attached my saved game. Thank you in advance for your help.

Here's a copy of the finished Allied turn from the previous turn, before the unit was destroyed.

I tried accessing the unit in latest build and had no issue.
Only possible thing is that the unit's TOE is due to upgrade, but in latest build rebuilt units don't automatically upgrade their TOE.

I will attempt to buy it out on my next turn and see what happens. Should that still fail, I'll just avoid that unit. Of course, we could upgrade to the latest build.

Thanks for looking at this Michael. And thank you for your continuing support. You've helped make the best wargame of all time even better.
