027 - Tigers to the Rescue --- APCR

Post by Gerry4321 »

Played this as the Germans and now want to try it as the Russians.

I noticed the Tigers had APCR. Scenario is set in 1943 so I am wondering if the Tiger should have APCR in that year.

The Tiger had Pz Gr. 40 (APCR or HVAP) from the start. Although in very low amount. They were only to use when the Pz Gr. 39 (AP) couldn't do the job.

Thanks Jorgen. Have you won this as the Russians? Played as the Jerries and of course the Tigers were devastating. But looking forward to it.

Well I got hammered so I will try again. I am afraid the 88s are lethal (guns and Tigers) so I will try and stay away from the guns next time. Plus the Russians are battling with both the radioless AFV problem and OOC.

When did the Russian AFVs employ radios?

You should have the radios working. Unselect the Radio box in the scenario configuration menu when you start the scenario.

Would that not make not true to history? Are you saying that the scenario should have this box unchecked by default in 1943?

Yes it does. The Russians improved their Tanks and by 1943 they all had radios. When I searched information for this scenario that was one of the things I came across in my books.

Thanks Jorgen. Shouldn't that checkbox be cleared by default then for the Russians in this scenario?
