WP tanks dying to arty

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. WP tanks dying to arty

Why do they die so easily from arty strikes? Are they that horrible? Shouldn't they be harder to hit since they are smaller?

Depends on the arty strike type. HE attacks are less likely to knock out tanks (even less likely in the latest update) and the gun size for the firing unit, rate of fire matter, spotting state, target cover, and readiness of the arty crew all play into the hit and kill chances. If it is an ICM strike from NATO, those will tear up just about anything on the ground. In many cases with tanks and arty strike, if the tank gets hit, it is a fallout and not a kill.
