Soviet Production Multiplier

Post by AlbertN »

I realized only now - that once I get in the "Siberia" part of the map, if Axis attacks the Soviets they do not get the extra +0.25 production multiplier anymore.

I mean, it's all good they do not get it from Japan (Otherwise a Russo-Japanese war would be too bad for Japan and too disadvangageous for the Axis).
But when the Germans are fighting at Baku / Urals (yes by then it's a small handful of BPs per turn I know) the Soviets gets nothing!

I assume though by the rules that is correct (pushing the Soviets to defend in the "European" map proper).

Yes, that is the rule in RAW7.

Also note the Germans in Siberia no longer add to the garrison value in Russia. I've had problems where the Russian retreats into Siberia and when my troops follow, partisans spring up in the now barely garrisoned Russia and there goes the German supply lines.

I had no idea. Is this really true?

Yes, that is true. They add it to the Garrison value of Siberia.

So is Siberia now a separate country?

Getting partisans

At the start of this step, roll a die and locate the result on the partisan table. This will specify 8 countries eligible for partisan activity in the turn.

I believe Partisans are treated slightly differently here - like all nations that can have partisans get their roll.
Partisan activity in MWiF is much higher - AND without the City Volounteers the Axis needs many more regular troops in anti-partisan duty.

"Siberia" and "USSR" have always had separate entries on the Partisan table.

MWiF has a line on the map corresponding to the original paper East Europe map which controls which part is "USSR" and which part is "Siberia" that is used for Partisan rolls and Production Multiplier bonuses.

[:)] Thank you. [:)]

[:(] I read the "13.1 Partisan Table" three times and missed Siberia each time. [:(]

(For those that haven't found it go to the MWiF Menu bar: Select "Help" ~ and scroll down to select "Charts From WIF FE" for the "13.1 Partisan Table")

That is why I was asking: For the purpose of setting up of Partisans is Siberia treated as a separate country? Do Siberian Partisans have to be put in Siberia or can they go in European Russia instead?

13.1 Partisans (option 46)
Partisans are units that appear in countries you have conquered (and in some you are still fighting). Some countries can have partisans no matter who controls them.

Partisans can attack, block movement and occupy hexes.

Never tested it but they should only be able to appear in Siberia, however it is inferred by the rules that they are still all Russian partisans and if they manage to get back to friendly lines then they should be able to move back and forth between Siberia and the rest of the USSR as should any Russian partisan that appears initially in the USSR.
