Polizei division SS status

VR designs has been reinforced with designer Cameron Harris and the result is a revolutionary new operational war game 'Barbarossa' that plays like none other. It blends an advanced counter pushing engine with deep narrative, people management and in-depth semi-randomized decision systems.

Polizei division SS status

Post by Jonathan Pollard »

The Polizei division did not officially become designated as an SS division until February 1942. It was made up of conscripted policemen, most of whom were not even Nazis. It probably had worse morale than typical SS divisions prior to 1942 and it had rather limited combat experience prior to June 1941.

Hi Jonathon,

The Polizei Division is a controversial one.

Originally, in the game, it didn't appear on-map and was instead a decision revolving around anti-partisan units in AGN but complaints led it to where it is today.

I'll give it some thought.

Cheers,
Cameron

Let's keep all these games as historical as possible. If SS was involved in the fighting, keep it in the game,

In Guderian's book Panzer Leader he mentions how the SS Police Div. held a section of the front line and fought admirably. It has been about a year since I read the book so I can't give you the exact accounting of what was said, but he did mention how their resolve in the face of overwhelming Soviet forces impressed him.
