New purchase... where should I be patch wise?

Post by jack54 »

Hi everybody<

Happy to use the 'Easter' sale for this game... it's been on my list for a while.

Download install says version 1.00 what patch should be installed next: I don't mind betas but the 1.02 open beta instructions confused me.

Not sure what it means "NOTE 2: If you installed the first version, you will need to use the JSGME Mod Enabler to disable the original mod, unzip the new package, then re add the new one with the Mod Enabler."

Thanks [:)]

Good day, jack54!

Thank you for your purchase, your support is truly appreciated.

I'd recommend click on the UPDATE button on your main menu. That should install the 1.01 UPDATE. If you can't get the UPDATE button to work, you can download the 1.01 UPDATE from here:
1.01 UPDATE Location

If you aren't comfortable installing the 1.02 BETA package, I'd recommend just sticking with the 1.01 UPDATE. We will be officially releasing the 1.02 UPDATE later on in the Spring.

If you are comfortable installing the 1.02 BETA package, the specific instructions for using the Mod Enabler are located in the posts following this one: Mod Enabler Instructions.

It seems like a lot, but it is pretty straight forward once you get the hang of it.

Hope that helps!

We have released at least two versions of the ME 1.02 Open Beta Update patch. The note refers to: If you installed the first version of the Open Beta patch, you would need to back it out, using JSGME. Then apply the second version of the patch, again using JSGME. Since this is a new install for you, just use the latest listed version (and forget about the earlier version).

Note: We hope to release the third and final installment of the ME 1.02 Open Beta Update patch early in April. Leading eventually (in late April or early May we hope) to the official ME 1.02 Update. If you apply the current Open Beta patch, you will want to keep in mind the above note about backing it out before applying the imminent (early April) installment.

Thank you.... I got 1.02 beta installed. That JSGME is real nice. The whole process is easy once you get the hang of it.[&o]

thx for inadvertently answering a Q I was going to ask re: how do I install a patch to a copy of the game I have on an external HD?

For future reference if anyone has the issue; when you click update in a game folder not installed where matrix wanted it C:\Matrix....it errors out and tells you the path cannot be found.....

This was great, I DLed it directly and unzipped it from my DL folder to the game folder, thx Gents!
