Light Infantry?

Post by *Lava* »

So...

How come Light Infantry didn't make it into the game?

I know "skirmishers" gives a big boost to normal infantry, but Light Infantry was one of the innovations that Napoleon brought to war.

Perhaps a card that turns a normal infantry unit into a Light Infantry one; like the create Guard unit card does? They would automatically have skirmish bonuses without having to use another card on them for that.

Great game, BTW!

Huh?

Anyway, the thing about light infantry is that it would be more difficult to rout in battle than a normal infantry unit, taking less losses from artillery and infantry.

This combined with changing the Combined Arms bonus from 1 infantry, art, and cav, to 2 infantry, 1 art and 1 cavalry would make having light infantry especially valuable in battle.

Being able to get light infantry via the card system would be highly sought after and allowing the AI to bring light infantry to the battle would make them more resistant to losing their Combined Arms bonus so easily.
