Placing Units in setup phase

Post by lhmg »

No matter what I try I can never change the placement of units in set up phase. There seems to be nothing in the manual or videos on how to do this. Are you only allowed to make changes initially in some scenarios?? I like the game especially with the ASL mods but it is a very clunky interface that isnt easy to use or intuitive. I hope that changes with updates in the future. Most of the suggestions I have seen on the forum would be welcome. Thanks for any help. Take care.

In fact I think all of the original scenarios have pre-defined setups? (Haven't played them all yet but that is the trend.)

If you can set up units there will be a panel in the bottom right corner with the OOB to enter that turn. You click on a unit, cursor changes to a counter, then you place the unit on the map. Unit is still in the OOB but now in Bold to indicate it is on the map. You can remove a unit if you mess up and replace it.

Can you tell me which scenario allows you to change the initial set up as I haven't found one yet or am doing something wrong. Thanks. Also has anyone rated the scenarios listed under the ASL mods. WHich ones are the best. Thanks again. Take care.

If it makes you feel better I haven't been able to place anything during set up yet either. Also fun is that only once during a reinforcement phase have I ever received any reinforcements. They too could not be placed so apparently all you can ever do is hit quick placement button.

try a user created scenario from

tm.asp?m=4036275

this one has units you can place

Name: St.Nazaire Rain or (Operation Chariot)
Date: 28th March, 1942
Location: Port of St. Naraire

about halfway down. like Gerry mentioned most of the scenarios
that come with game are pre set by designer so you can't place
units.
