Losses during the administrative phase

Post by Gribeauval »

During an administrative phase, I have got a message saying that one of my squads had been reduced to an half-squad.
I don't know ASL rules, I don't understand how it is possible : there isn't any combat during the administrative phase.
I have readen the manual to find an explanation, but I didn't find any.

Could somebody help me to understand what happened ?

Regards.

If dice == 12 then reduction Squad to half-squad
If dice == 12 then reduction half-Squad to elimination

rico nailed it. Also, a snake eyes can yield a higher quality unit, and even generate a leader for you.

The casualties don't just represent troops killed, but also a unit so demoralized that they no longer count as a unit for game purposes. Imagine, deserters, cowards or troops so shell shocked that they can only sit there and cry. The same thing happens when a broken unit breaks again, it loses functional soldiers, so units are reduced or eliminated.
The game is afoot!

Even though I am disappointed (euphemism [:D]) as anyone else when it happens to me, this is one of the greatest features of this game system, as anything else departing from "chess-like" wargames. I do not miss at all the endless stream of articles in "The General" about the perfect opening moves in "Afrika Korps" or "Third Reich" [>:].

I'd almost be willing to bet that the stream of articles about the perfect moves in "Stalingrad," far outweigh those two!
"Lose" is the opposite of "win." "Loose" is the opposite of "tight."

From the tome:
10.64 Fate: A broken unit which rolls an Original 12 DR while attempting to rally suffers Casualty Reduction and does not rally.
