Sandbox Campaign & Scenario Faults

In the Sandbox campaign when a battle is to be fought, the "Scourge of War - Waterloo has stopped running" error closes the program. Same thing happened when I tried a sandbox battle...right at the start when the scenario has loaded.

Just bought Quatre Bras yesterday, and am fully up to date on patches.

what version do you use? site or steam, not that it matters as they are both the same,

I'M ON THE SITE VERSION.

I AM ABLE TO RUN THE STOCK SCENARIOS, AND AM IN CAPATABILITY MODE FOR WIN 8.
