Defeat?

Post by baloo7777 »

Hey Rico. Played the Partisan firefight for the first time (Played as Germans on hard). Is this correct (see below) and the only way to win as the German player is to hold the VO AND KIA enough of the Partisans to reach the needed score? I find that killing squads in cover is very hard to do, especially with only 5 turns and often half or more of your squads OOC. Perhaps the Victory points for the VO hex should be increased to 2?

Before promote a general, Napoleon asked: "okay it's a good officer but has he chance?"

I love this scenario as it stands so I would not change it,
The normal level is a little tactical gem,
It proves that AI is not always boring,
I prefer to do another scenario, more ASL for Sir Baloo first ! [:)]

You are absolutely right!
"We have found the enemy...and he is us"!!! [:'(]

Will try for a better result this time through!

General Rico, sir...they say lunacy is doing the same thing again and expecting a different result! This is a screenshot from the personally designed Partisans scenario you made just for me. [8|]

Just finished playing this scenario , nice , played on hard , really only had one stack continually OOC .
Stacked my leader with a lmg and 3 squads .
Turn 1 moved that group into the woods , survived the MMG fire and in the advance fire stage eliminated it [:)].
Around turn 2 or 3 rushed a single unit to the VP , they survived but did not keep them on the VP , little to open[:)]
After that kept my fingers crossed for a kill or 2 [:)]
Then with a bit of luck managed to grab a minor victory with 5 points.
What I love about this game is if the MMG wasn`t eliminated on turn 1 or the fire stack that I put a lot of faith into went OOC as much as the other stack , which by the way,
is still thinking about moving, The whole outcome would be different .
Every thing about a scenario changes , from your placement to the random rolls[:)]
I was lucky this time [:)]

Think I may have a different style of play [:)]
I try to take what I need to, but if I had to guess why Rico is so successful

Played this little Gem tonite (hard) as the Germans and got a 6-1 victory.
It'll be interesting to see just how I make out as the partisans. I'll be summoning the powers of the little corporal himself I think ;)

Thanks for the fun Rico [:D]

I'd say not all battles are winable in certain scenarios. You must continue to "try" to win and be satisfied with the outcome. I'm certain German soldiers would have loved to have won the "Battle of Stalingrad" but, the outcome wasn't to be. [:'(]
