'beginner' Allied AI land forces passive

Post by gwgardner »

I note that the Allied AI land forces in my 'beginner' game have never even once attacked, in Poland or in France and the Low Countries. The AI air force does attack, and the AI navy is vicious.

In my invasion of France, the AI has placed it's armor in Paris. It could have used that plus other strong French units to hit at my front elsewhere.

The BEF moved into Belgium, but then immediately fled back to the UK, without firing a shot.

Given the passivity of the Allied AI I have left a rather weak defense on some parts of my line, with confidence that the AI will not hit me there.

You players who have tried other settings than 'beginner' do you see a more aggressive land AI?

[by the way, my many posts about issues with the scenario/game should not be construed as me not liking the game. It's a blast. Great potential.]

Playing on Intermediate as Axis I have noticed this too gwgardner.

The Polish land units didn't attack back at all.

The Benelux land units didn't attack back at all.

The French land units made 1 attack against a weakened infantry corps of mine.

The BEF (all UK land units in France) left France once my units made it to Calais and never attacked me.

The French still put there one armored division in Paris.

The British land units are aggressive in North Africa. They attack my Italian units every turn.

But by and large I am only being consistently attacked by Allied air and naval.

It got to the point that I knew I wasn't going to be attacked in Benelux and France by the AI land units so I started parking my air units and HQs next to pocketed French land units and they still didn't attack those.
