research investment vs upgrade pace

I think I've learned in my first year or so of the scenario, that I don't need to rush to complete research, because I can't afford to upgrade everything to the research levels I've already obtained. It's a real balancing act, which makes it very interesting - which research to do, which upgrades to do and when. Kudos on that aspect of the game, IMO.

for me, build late, research early is my approach atm, then again it's first game so maybe wrong m8, as for me i'd like better tanks later on when needed, but more infantry early on with more research making them slightly better than maybe they would be or historically was etc
