v1.00.07.02 Hotfix DOWNLOAD

Post by Hubert Cater »

Another hotfix EXE that includes the following changes/fixes:

v1.00.07.02 BETA

- fixed Coastal Gun error that would incorrectly give Coastal Guns an AP value = 1
- fixed an error that did not allow Artillery units to move into an enemy controlled resource as it would only show the targetting cursor. Now if you use the Ctrl key on the keyboard to mimic controlled movement you will be able to have the Artillery unit move into that hex.
- fixed a bug that allowed you to attack after forced marching.
- fixed a unit movement and spotting error under the new reduced spotting range rules.
- fixed an introduced bug that stopped the unit swap function.
- fixed a missing font error in various screens by using Windows system fonts instead.
- fixed a naval unit movement and attack error that doubled the loss of action points for the naval unit.
- fixed a saved game timestamp, difficulty data update issue.
- fixed a national morale bar toggle and mouse hover issue related to the strategic management button area.
- fixed a unit moved display error at zoom level = 1.
- fixed a shroud display error for hidden and Silent subs in an area that has been lifted from the fog of war.
- fixed an AI AMPHIBIOUS/TRANSPORT/FLEET staging bug.
- selecting a unit to cruise or forced march now shows an updated action point value in the unit properties area on the main screen.

CAMPAIGNS

1939 Storm Over Europe (AI)
- fixed several AI FLEET scripts that were firing incorrectly after we added several turns to Spring and Fall.
- fixed several AI GUARD scripts for the UK, USSR and Italy.
- Bradly US HQ now arrives May 19th, 1942 off of the P/Q to better coincide with related AI AMPHIBIOUS/TRANSPORT scripts.
- Germany now takes into account an Allied push up through Italy and will attempt to defend accordingly.
- French Garrison GUARD script corrected.
- French AI GUARD scripts adjusted to have a more dynamic and less scripted response to the Axis invasion of France and the Low Countries.
- USSR AI GUARD scripts adjusted to have a more dynamic and less scripted response to the Axis invasion for mid to late 1942 onwards.

1939 Storm Over Europe
- Changed spelling to Wilhelmshaven (TheBattlefield).
- Sweden's mines are now at Kiruna and Gallivare, while Boden is now a Fortified Town with a Garrison, and Sweden's Garrison Build Limit has been raised from 1 to 2 (sPzAbt653).
- Changed Tobruk to Gazala in the Afrika Korps trigger conditions. Afrika Korps Decisions brought forward one turn too, to the end of 1940. This means it should be ready for action in the next turn, which is February 1941.
- Pop up added to mention that Germany is investing in keeping Finland in the war when they say yes to DE 619. That and DE 404 can also fire earlier in the game now (Mithrilotter).
- Sweden now only needs to be pro-Axis to have a convoy to Germany.
- Maritime Bombers' Naval and Carrier Attack values increased from 1:1 to 3:3 (Mithrilotter).
- Increased the effect of scorched earth on Soviet Cities, Major Cities, Capitals and Major Capitals to a minimum of 60% and maximum of 80% (HvS).
- Some changes made to European, Russian and Mediterranean Weather Zones (HvS, sPzAbt653).
- Kuybyshev is now an Industrial Center.
- Brindisi's road amended (Dhucul).
- The USSR's Occupational Efficiency reduced from 80 to 70% (HvS).
- Nuremburg renamed as Nürnberg (Lehnardtsson).
- The Westwall renamed as Siegfried Line (HvS).
- Fixed the Supply scripts for raiding off the US and Canadian coasts (TheBattlefield).
- Changed the shape of Lake Balaton.
- Hill added under Budapest and the course of the Danube amended slightly (Mrslobodan).
- Change Centered Map Position to Poznan 180,75.
- Moved Rosyth Map Text.
- Road added to Crete running along the island (StratcomAl).
- Metz will now also be annexed by Germany as part of Alsace (Lehnardtsson).
- Germany now starts with 50 rather than 65 MPPs.
- Resource scripts added so that experienced Axis players can have lower German income at the start of the game should they so desire. This is worth 60 MPPs a turn in 1939, increasing as Industrial Technology is researched. ONLY those wishing to have lower German income need to do anything, and they must before starting the campaign turn on one, and only one, of the German Resource scripts. After selecting to start the campaign, in the Options screen click on Advanced and Scripts. Click on Resource and there are 5 scripts to choose from. Either select the one set to fire in September 1939, or one of four others that are set to start in January in any of the following years: 1941, 1942, 1943 and 1944. Not turning any of these on means that Germany receives its full income from the relevant resources from the start of the game.

One additional note on the changes for France and the USSR, these are experimental to see if a less passive AI in these theaters is on the right track and an improvement. It might be that it will require further tweaks and/or minor reversions but I'd be interested to see what players think before making further changes.

Thanks and enjoy [:)]

Hill added under Budapest and the course of the Danube amended slightly (Mrslobodan).
Nice with the hill but the danube looks the same. Budapest is still in a vulnerable "salient". The danube should go straight from north to south, not "protrude" to the east.

If I make a custom campaign and change the location of Budapest will it affect other things aswell? Basically, can I simply change location of Budapest without causing a lot of bugs?
If so, I'll just do that :D

I must have not saved my changes to the river, because I did make them but you are right that they haven't changed. That is odd. [&:]

Changing Budapest's position won't be likely to cause much trouble. If you do, I would recommend opening ALL the scripts first, including AI ones, and searching for the hex that Budapest occupies.

Then any mentions of that hex number in the scripts can be changed to Budapest's new location.

Probably won't be many, but there are a lot of script files!

Ah good news, I guess it's too much work to relocate Budapest, so I'm looking forward to the change of Danube :D

On another note, has anything changed in France since the first Beta? As axis I can move more freely and reach Paris relatively fast, only took 3 months this time compared to about 6 months on all my previous tries. It feels perfect atm, no meat grinder:D So has anything changed or was I just lucky(playing on expert 2x exp)

Hi Mrslobodan,

I've introduced a few changes to the AI behaviour in France with this latest campaign download HOTFIX, but after reviewing my overnight test just now I've realized it is not behaving at all the way I had planned and the AI essentially opens the door to Paris as you've just noticed. It should have just had a less passive response instead of retreating from the frontlines completely to a rear GUARD position. This will be corrected with another hotfix probably later today.

If I click on the mini-map using the Hotfix, the main game map just automatically starts scrolling towards the south of the map.

No matter where I click on the mini-map, e.g. north Norway, the game's focus will go from there to the due south in no time at all.

Is this just me?

The horizontal scrolling is far too sensitive for me now, so if I want to click on something to the right of the screen, as I move my mouse the map starts scrolling and I end up to the right of the item I wanted to click on.

In fact, I can't go to Options without having the map scroll all the way to the right and ending up in the Urals.

I even turned off Hide Text During Map Scroll but it hasn't really helped.

Bill, I'm not having those issues at all, scrolling here is fine like it was before, but I only dl'd the EXE, not the Campaign. Don't know if that would have any difference.

Thanks, it's probably because I had the game in 1024x768 rather than full screen. I've switched back and it's working fine, and Hubert is now looking into that smaller resolution.

Trouble is I often need to see the screen and the game at the same time, hence the smaller setting.
