Strategic Command New Version Available (v1.00.08)

Post by Benedict151 »

Hello Everyone

A new Strategic Command beta build is now available. v1.00.08

Please refer to Tamas' earlier forum post ("How to download the latest beta build") for how to download this

tm.asp?m=4105056

We recommend uninstalling all previous versions before installing v1.00.08

Due to the many improvements and fixes made by Hubert and Bill I'm afraid save games from earlier versions will not
work with v1.00.08

Once again there are too many amendments made for this version to list them all here. Please refer to the Patch
Notes for details, especially to the AI and Campaign sections.

v1.00.08

Scrolling seems very nice, and the text doesn't hide which is nice.
Now we can't Force March thru enemy territory ?
Unit Swap seems to work ok.
Font error is gone.

First of all, i'm not able to download the new update if i went by the link in the mail.
The things that went wrong:

1. outlook.com put the mail from Slitherine in the SPAM folder. You might wanna take a look at the way the mails are made up.
2. See the screenshot. This is what i get when clicking the matrix forum link and it looks really suspicious.
Luckily i know it's not a phishing mail.

3. When i press Yes a few times i get to the forum topic. My forum is set to keep logged in with a cookie.
But i get the following message. Somehow it doesn't recognize my cookie.
4. I got a different betakey then i got earlier from Hubert. Is that because I was in the earlier beta, or is it a bug?

I do know how to download it though from a previous mail so i will be ok. [;)]

Hello n0kn0k

With regard to point 4, yes, it is because you were in the earlier beta organised by Hubert. Either key should work for you
It is not a bug as such, but in terms of the way the beta mailouts are set up and organised its more straightforward
to keep to standard format (and that includes a beta key)

I am not sure why you cannot download it from the forum message link however

It probably has something to do with cookies.
Weird thing is I can remain logged into the forum.
But it's not a big issue. I'll manage. [:)]
