Over-stacking...
The situation is this: Its the CW land phase. Two CW MOT want to move from Antwerp to Brussels. Brussels is currently occupied by two Belgian units (aligned with France). The French plan on moving the Belgian units into Antwerp to resolve the over-stacking during the French land phase.
I guess this is something still being worked on in MWiF? Do I need a beta tester to edit this for me? Not sure what to do next.

Conflict with the unexpected: two qualities are indispensable; first, an intellect which, even in the midst of this obscurity, is not without some traces of inner light which lead to the truth; second, the courage to follow this faint light. KvC
RE: Over-stacking...
I've been working on learning how to edit the game file and I pretty sure I can do this if you want. Just upload your game file and tell me which units you want where. It doesn't take a beta tester or beta tool to do this. Just someone who understands the game file.

RE: Over-stacking...
Thank you Ronnie, but you will have to walk me through it step by step.
How do I upload my game file?

Use windows to go to the folder where you've put the game. There you follow the path:
Matrix Games - World in Flames - Scenarios - Global War - Saved Games. In the list of gamesaves right click on the correct file name and zip it (all in windows).
The zipped file can be uploaded in the forums as an attachment to a post you are making, if you use the "post reply" button.

RE: Over-stacking...
When I try to move the file to my MWiF game I get a message:
Version number of saved game (2.2.7) does not match current version number (1.0.0).
I'm kinda confused at this. I have not updated to 2.2.7, but I do have 2.2.6. Not sure why it would say 1.0.0. I guess I'll have to update to 2.2.7...will this do the trick?

RE: Over-stacking...
Instead of updating, edit the save file. The very first thing in the file will be something that reads 2.2.7.0. (I am guessing about the .0). This is the version number of the save. Change it to 2.2.6, and everything will be fine.
I thought I knew how to play this game....
RE: Over-stacking...
Interesting, I looked at the version number of your original game file and it's 1.0.0. So it appears you're playing without ANY upgrades. The version I'm using is 2.2.7 and that can be edited to run with version 2.2.6 or any version of 2.x.x. However, it will NOT work with version 1.x.x.ORIGINAL: Jagdtiger14

MWiF will handle the game format of an earlier version even back to 1.0.0 but MWiF 1.x.x versions cannot handle the format of the later versions and will crash if you try.
The bottom line is that you can edit the version of the file I uploaded, or I can if you prefer, to any 2.x.x version (e.g., 2.2.6) and it'll work, but if you change the version number from 2.x.x (e.g., 2.2.7) to 1.x.x (e.g., 1.0.0) MWiF will crash if you try to load that file.
Also, the game file you uploaded in the tech forum yesterday for the return to base issue with the Italians west of Gibraltar is also version 1.0.0.

RE: Over-stacking...
Wow! I uploaded versions prior to 2.2.6 with 2.2.6 being the last one. Any reason it didn't succeed?
If I am able to get my game to 2.2.7, what will happen to the current game I am playing at 1.0.0?
Where can I go to find which version I am on?

RE: Over-stacking...
The version number can be found in several places. The easiest one is in the start screen (above the L of World in Flames).
You should be able to open the game and save it directly afterwards (with a new name). That gamesave should have the version number you are using.

Here is my 2.2.5 version of the game.
Assuming the edit you already made will work, how do I get it into my game?

RE: Over-stacking...
Good news. I edited your most recently attached file to swap the two stacks using notepad and without saving it in MWiF, so the version uploaded is the version kept. Attached is that file.ORIGINAL: Jagdtiger14

More good news, is that if you are really running version 2.2.5 you can (should be able) load the edited file and when you save it will be converted to version 2.2.5.

Unzip the file and move it to your saved game folder for Global War Scenario. Then load the file as you normally would.ORIGINAL: Jagdtiger14
