Im a new player, need help

So how do you add planes without placing them, hitting play and making them go back to base? Second, I am making a scenario and if I make the bots target the players ships will the AI always know where you are or does it have to search until it comes up on its radar?

Select the airbase and then ctrl-f6 or go to the 'Editor' pull down menu, then unit-ops and then 'edit aircraft'.

Second, I think it depends on how you do it. You can just set up patrol missions for the ships and then they will hunt and kill your ships, or set strike missions and then they will launch once you've found the ships some other way.
