Please help...

My download seems to be complete, it has 328 MB. However, upon installation I get a decomression error (crc mismatch) for vid998.smk. I can ignore and go on with installation, but the game won't run. Does anybody know where I could get that file? In another post someone mentioned it was available for download from matrix, but I can
t find it there. Maybe, if it's not too big, someone could even e-mail it to me.
Thanks for any help that spares me from downloading the 328 Megs again.

Murks, IIRC this is a rather large file, I'm at work so can't check for sure, but if it's not too large, I'll zip it up and send to you tonite when I get home. Try first a search of your hard drive with the find function-Vid988, and see if it isn't 'hidden' in another file folder?! Later

Send me private email, and I can set up an ftp site on my computer for just that file. I've got a cable connection, so it doesn't bother me if it takes you a while to grab it.

Hey murks, I feel your pain brother. I too had the same problem with my pcgamer disk. I went out and bought a second disk and low and behold....the same problem (%#@&* stupid son of a rotten piece of...I think were my exect words) I had to download the bloody bugger 5 or 6 times (my rage made me loose track, the stupid thing broke my brain.) Anyway, my persistance paid off and with tears of joy rolling down my face I was able to play the game. Try wiping the disk of with water and a very soft towel, It may be a coincedince but that's what worked for me in my final download, perhaps some of the stupid cardboard they package the disk in leaves residue on it and mucks up the works. Anyway, good luck trooper.

I have got exactly the same problem. Does anyone know if this file is available for individual download? I am beginning to despair that I will ever get this game to work!
