Screen Problem

I have problem with game on Windows 8.1 (64-bit).
On screen are constantly emerging, if open another program or anti-virus or timer.
What is cause of problem and how to remove it?
On Windows XP old computer was not like this. Everything was worked ok.

My game does this on Win 10 too. My only recommendation is to keep background programs, such as windows media player or skype, minimized while the game is open. Not closed, minimized.

I guess you are using the "dd_sw" - switch.
Removing that switch normally removes this "bleedthrough" of desktop refreshs.
Even minimized programs can bleed through, when their minimized version does updates (eg. Firefox shows graphical progress info on the minimized "icon")
But if you have to use it to remove the screen scroll lag, you only can alleviate it by closing all unnecessary programs (like Mediaplayer or even just an open explorer window).
When I was still on Win 8.1 (or earlier Win7), I did not have to use the dd_sw switch. There seem to be some drivers for some graphics cards, that still have working DDraw on these OS.
It seems nowadays implementing a working fast DDraw is more or less ignored by graphics cards manufacturers. DDraw is dead.
