Just bought Love it but. If i could have two tweaks

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Just bought Love it but. If i could have two tweaks

Post by Titan »

Just started played..Love the graphics..options and gameplay look great. And im really looking forward to playign agasint some others. If if i had a wish list of two tweaks it would be

Option

1. Adjust the scroll speed of Map.
2. Perhaps one more zoom in level i find its hard to see the strength numbers and ive got to have a real good look on whats around where if i could zoom in one more step i could get a easier to see picture of whats what

Nothing major as nothing is perfect...But just my thoughts

Totally agree on adjusting the scroll speed. Was looking for the setting within the options :)

For the scroll speed is it to have it scroll faster or slower?

One option if you'd like it to be a bit faster is to go to Options->Advanced and to adjust the number of scrolls before the map text hides setting. I believe the default is set to 30 and lowering it to 10 or less will speed up scrolling.

If you have a fast PC set it all the way up to 50 and you will never see a name tag loading again when scrolling.
And it slows it down a bit also.

I set the Scrolls Before Text Hides to 50 but still scrolls fairly rapid. It would be nice to have a slider (or some other method) that would adjust the scroll speed. I would like to slow down the scroll rate.

I do want to mention one thing. Holding the left mouse button down while moving the map around lets a person scroll at a very controlled rate (faster or slower).

I agree on the request for an additional zoom level..I had no issues w/ the "strength levels" in Storm over Europe on 3D setting. But my old eyes now cannot see the numbers in 3d so am using NATO counters w/ larger numbers.

Not a biggie but I do prefer using 3D counters.

As I mentioned somewhere else, I hope the guy who did Battleground 39 mod does his Nato counters. Playing Assault on Communism, etc., and they are simply great.

I too am having trouble seeing the strength numbers etc on the 3d counters and had no issues in SOE. I don't think the zoom level really needs upping as much as the numbers need to be larger.

Playing at 800x600 is the only way to see those numbers. The trade off is, it cuts off some Reports a little.

Just out of curiosity, what size monitor and resolution are you all playing?

Playing 27" at 2560x1440 here and 27" at 1920x1080.
Both are clear to me. I still have perfect vision though.

Not only reports. Also some interface info like weather info(see other topic).

Is there anyway in the game options/settings to chose a non-desktop resolution (thus making things bigger) as there was with SC2?

I believe it's forced to "Windowed full screen" mode.
Perhaps Hubert can elaborate on the reason for this.

I like this game a lot, it's well worth the price (although a bit on the expensive side...). But yes, an additional zoom level would be fantastic. As Titan said, most of us who play these games are in the 40-60+ bracket...Hence extra zoom would be great!!

This is what I am using and zoom is ok, but on a smaller monitor I could see it being a bit small for some people.

AstroCat, you mean you are using a big monitor, I assume, such as 27" or so. Yes, other people made similar remarks, with a big monitor you get good visual. But if you are using any kind of normal monitor, even closest zoom is too small...

Yeah I'm agreeing, for a smaller monitor I can see needing another level of zoom, especially at higher res even smaller monitors have these days.
