I keep getting this error.
On this occasion it always occurs in the editor when I zoom the map.
In addition it has happened in the main game when I select a map from the top options.
1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8 )
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments (zip) rather than pasted into the body of the post.
add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure check the logs of these to see if it was one if any of them was to blame.
That usually means a 3rd party program, like an Internet security programs, is or could be interfering with the game or update installation.
run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.
please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.

default is 96 dpi if you change back to the default settings and retry and see if it still crashes
as the mode and settings may not be compatible, altering them to a standard setting and you will at least see if it does work on your hardware, not all high end settings may work
Current Mode: 5120 x 2880 (32 bit) (60Hz)

also your using a mac to work as windows, this also is untested i'm sorry to say...
Free Space: 5.4 GB this is low for a windows based system to use as well, freeing up more space may help with some, but it's not too low atm to impact this game, just a comment on findings
so for me it could quite easily be the resolution your running or a mixture of hardware / software issues
any logs in the contents of the ERROR folder that is generated in your Users\<your name>\My Documents\My Games\Strategic Command - WWII War in Europe\ERROR folder?
may give more of a clue to the developer

I tried all of the above but the error persisted. However I discovered the following:
In the editor the error is repeatable when I have a 10 x 10 hex map. I click on the 'zoom out' button and it fails as above, the editor crashes to the desktop. However if I increase the map size to say 90 x 90 hexes (i.e. fill the screen) the error does not appear and (so far) all is fine. Anyway at least I can use the editor now. BTW - a very good game and editor. I think I will have lots of fun with it. Thanks for all of your help.

I too have gotten this error twice now and on different computers, but it happened when I scrolled up to the top of the map...[:(]

One thing that worked in prior versions was to reinstall the game. A clean install would be best. Some times some of the support files can get corrupted or a modded game will have corruptions.
