Is it possible?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Is it possible?

To attach flak units directly to airbase units? If so, would someone please tell me how? What options are there for protecting airfields with flak?

select an airbase and click on the 'assign' function (rhs of the airbase details) you'll then get a listing like this with all the AA you can transfer. Be cautious as it is expensive in admin pts.

The alternative is to put a HQ with lots of flak support units on/near the base - that is probably more cost efficient.

Well that certainly seems a lot easier than what I was trying. I guess, in game terms, an airbase is the same as a city, for flak attachments.

I'm in the editor and the airbase screen doesn't show an 'attach' button. I have to change the HHQ to whatever airbase I want the unit in. Then a mouseover shows the flak unit attached to that city, even if there is no city symbol on the map.

If they are attached to a city with airbase they *should* also defend the airbase.
