How to speed up the game?

After a few years I have started to play BTR again. The game resolution takes such a long time, also to select intercepting forces. Any hints / advice to speed up the game?

Read the two threads below this one and see if you get any help from those.

Try AE's mod, that sped things up for me, perhaps to much.

Thanks, I tried a few things, I'm running the gamme now in windowed mode, that did the trick, running like hell now and much better graphic resolution![:)]
