Game Master Mode?

Post by 76mm »

I read in the manual (or somewhere...) about the "game master mode" (or whatever it is called) that allows the master of a PBEM game to edit various issues with the game. A couple of questions:
1) is this only available for PBEM games, or hotseat, etc. as well?
2) How is this launched, is it a feature of the main game program or a separate program?

Correct, the pbem menu buttons are only visible to all players during pbem games, and the pbem admin button is only visible to the game host.

You could try a quick pbem hotseat game setting yourself fr@fr.com as host and gb@gb.com as client with other nations as AI and step through some turns. You just have to exit and select New Game to restart with your alternate email address. As host, you can pull up the admin menu and explore its features. The admin menu has been helpful in keeping some games going despite some glitches, but obviously it would still be nice to resolve those glitches so the admin does not have to fix anything.

Bill, thanks once again for your response and support.

Unfortunately, I'm feeling a bit dense, but don't really understand your post:
1) when you say a "PBEM hotseat game",do you mean a PBEM game or a hotseat game?
2) I don't understand setting up the game with fake e-mails and then restarting with my real e-mail? Any downside to just using my e-mail from the beginning?

And while it would be great if this admin function were not necessary, I think that it is a very useful feature and wish that more (all?) games had it...
